Blog 1 – Base-camp
DMC Consultancy is a new business venture that I developed and launched in January 2019.
Firstly, I have absolutely no experience in blogging, but I would like to share my life experience in business with anyone out there that may require advice.
In my opinion you only learn from making mistakes so hopefully this blog will stop you making some of the same mistakes that I have over the past 18 years of my working life.
My name is Danielle McSorley, I’m 35 years of age and I have been working since I left school at the age of 17. I started my career working in a company packing boxes which I have to say I loved every minute of and still have a nack for it today, I then progressed to an administrator role in the company, and basically progressed from there, learning as much in every position I was ever worked in.
College was never for me, to my mother’s disappointment but I did attended a lot of night courses. This is my opinion is a conditioning that needs addressing as what is right for one person may not be right for another.
I then basically progressed from there to running the family business alongside setting up two of my own company’s which is where I am at today.
This first blog is just to give you a quick over view of how I got to where I am today and it will continue with topics that I have experienced personally such as Education, Grants, Business Start Ups, Staffing, Time management, Cash flows, Financials, Business planning, Marketing, Advertising, Social Media, Sales Strategies, Mental Health, Burn out and most importantly Digital Marketing and website development as this is what DMC Consultancy is all about. Basically all aspects of any active business and how it to cope with it physically, mentally and most importantly successfully.
Your probably wondering why I’ve mentioned mental health in the same sentence as cash flows? The reason behind this is because when you run multiple companies as I have and you survive though a recession unless your superwoman you would be lying if it didn’t affect you mentally. This I will elaborate on in further posts.
I believe that to be successful in business you have to be determined, hardworking and most importantly a leader. You cannot be successful unless you surround yourself with people that are on the same page as you are. I would not be the person I am today without having people in my life that have supported me in all the different areas of my life be it family, friends, colleagues, staff etc.
Running a business is never an easy task, every single day you face highs and lows but you never give up and that is the secret to success.
“NEVER GIVE UP”
Until next Time!
