Independent Irish production reaches No.1 on Spotify Ireland, tops Apple Podcasts categories in Ireland and charts internationally as DMC-managed social campaign generates more than 3.5 million views
DMC Consultancy has announced a major opening-week performance for The Quinn Files, the new three-part podcast series featuring businessman Seán Quinn and hosted by Sammy Heaney.
Produced through DMC Studios, the series was released on September 4th and has rapidly developed into a major cross-platform media success, combining leading podcast chart positions with millions of views across social media.
The project was developed and produced by DMC, with the agency also managing the digital platform, social media strategy, content creation and online distribution surrounding the series.
Within days of its release, The Quinn Files reached No.1 on Spotify Ireland’s Trending chart, secured No.1 positions in both Business and Entrepreneurship on Apple Podcasts Ireland, entered the overall Irish Top 10 and climbed international podcast charts across multiple markets.
At the same time, the DMC-managed social media campaign surrounding the series has generated more than 3.5 million views and over 155,000 engagements.

🇮🇪 NO.1 IN IRELAND
Within days of launch, The Quinn Files achieved:
🥇 No.1 – Spotify Ireland Trending (peak position)
🥇 No.1 – Entrepreneurship, Apple Podcasts Ireland
🥇 No.1 – Business, Apple Podcasts Ireland
🔥 Top 10 – All Podcasts, Apple Podcasts Ireland
The series climbed from No.2 to No.1 on Spotify Ireland’s Trending chart on September 9th, marking its first confirmed Spotify chart-topping position.
On Apple Podcasts, The Quinn Files has also secured No.1 positions in both the Business and Entrepreneurship categories while breaking into the leading podcasts in Ireland across all categories.
The performance places the independently produced series alongside established programmes from some of Ireland and the world’s largest media organisations.
🇬🇧 TOP THREE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
The success has also extended into the UK, where The Quinn Files has reached:
🥉 No.3 – Entrepreneurship, Apple Podcasts UK
🔥 Top positions – Business, Apple Podcasts UK
🌍 Charting in the UK All Podcasts rankings
The UK performance has been particularly significant for DMC, with the independently produced Irish series reaching No.3 in Entrepreneurship within days of launch.
It has competed in the same category as internationally established podcasts including The Tim Ferriss Show, The Prof G Show and Founders.
🌍 INTERNATIONAL CHART EXPANSION
The international footprint of The Quinn Files has continued to grow rapidly since its release.
In addition to Ireland and the United Kingdom, the podcast has appeared across international Apple Podcasts charts, with recent tracking recording positions in markets including Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Hong Kong, Belgium, the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, South Africa and Norway.
Among its recorded international achievements are:
🇦🇺 Australia – Top 20 Entrepreneurship
🇳🇿 New Zealand – Top 15 Entrepreneurship
🇦🇹 Austria – Top 25 Entrepreneurship
🇭🇰 Hong Kong – Top 25 Entrepreneurship
🇧🇪 Belgium – Top 30 Entrepreneurship
The geographic spread provides significant early evidence that interest in the story is extending far beyond its core Irish audience.
“THE RESPONSE HAS GONE FAR BEYOND THE PODCAST ITSELF”
Danielle McSorley, Founder of DMC Consultancy, said:
“When we began developing The Quinn Files, we knew there would be enormous interest in Ireland, but the speed at which the project has travelled has been remarkable.
“To reach No.1 on Spotify Ireland, secure No.1 positions on Apple Podcasts and then see the programme climb charts internationally — while generating more than 3.5 million views across social media — all within days of launch is an incredible result for an independently developed Irish production.
“What has been particularly exciting for DMC is seeing the entire strategy work together. We didn’t just produce the podcast. Our team developed the digital platform, social media strategy, content and distribution campaign around it.
“That has allowed individual moments from the series to reach millions of people who may never have discovered the programme through a traditional podcast platform.
“What makes the result even more exciting is that this is an independently developed and produced Irish project competing against some of the biggest and longest-established podcasts in the world.
“For DMC, this was never intended to end with three podcast episodes. We see The Quinn Files as the beginning of a much larger media project, and the response so far has strengthened that ambition considerably.”
FROM ICE EXPO INTERVIEW TO MILLIONS OF VIEWS
The origins of The Quinn Files can be traced back to ICE Expo 2026, where host Sammy Heaney interviewed Seán Quinn.
The reaction to that interview demonstrated the continued public interest surrounding Quinn’s story and led DMC to develop the concept into a dedicated long-form series.
DMC subsequently developed the digital platform surrounding the project, produced The Quinn Files through its own DMC Studios operation and has managed the social media and digital campaign supporting its release.
Across three long-form episodes, Quinn gives his account of the rise and collapse of his business empire, his dealings with Anglo Irish Bank, the loss of control of the Quinn Group, subsequent court proceedings and imprisonment, and the events he believes led to the destruction of the group.
The series presents Quinn’s account and allegations concerning events that remain disputed and have been the subject of extensive litigation and public reporting.
